Visit to Mitchelton Winery

In March 2012 the GMWC piled into a rented minivan and embarked on their first field trip. The first stop was at Tahbilk, the second was for a bbq lunch and afternoon of tastings at Mitchelton.

The folk at the Mitchelton cellar door were friendly, very accommodating and generous with their session of wine tasting. The highlights for me were their Print Shiraz, and the Botrytis Riesling (which we opened another bottle of in the carpark on our way out to toast a great day – see write-up and pics here).

Thanks to Curly for bringing the grub, and special thanks to Moose who was designated driver for the day and did a sterling job in getting us there and back safely. (Tip: in Australia we drive on the left hand side)
