Celebrating Italian wines!

The GMWC took a figurative trip through Italy at its Sunday 20 September 2015 meeting, held at Rosshouse, Melbourne.

Curly provided members in attendance – and visiting guest, Gianfranco – with a PowerPoint introduction to Italian wines.

Members were then joined by guest speaker (and Italian native) Martin Schafer, from Enoteca Carlton.

Drawing on his deep knowledge and love of Italian wines – as well as decades in the wine trade – Martin provided an entertaining, informative and memorable presentation, guiding us through a suite of nine Italian wines.

The white wines? Prosecco, Gavi, Soave and Arneis.

The reds? Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Montepulciano and Sangiovese.
