The inaugural GMWC meeting was held on Sunday 10 April 2011 at Ross House, in Flinders Lane, Melbourne.
The Founding members – Paul ‘Curly’ Bateman, James ‘Masta’ Bateman, Yannick ‘Moose’ Thoraval, Stephen ‘Danno’ Garrett, Matthew ‘Clogs’ van Hasselt, and Jonathan ‘Statz’ Hyne – signed the Club’s Founding Document and, in doing so, formally launched what all parties hope will be a fulfilling, life-long commitment to the many glories of the humble grape.
Members dealt with pressing Committee business, enjoyed a presentation on wine and wine-making from Curly, and sampled a long and luscious list of wine varieties.
History thus made and well-toasted!
